CEO of Adidas, Bjorn Gulden announces to sell off remaining Yeezy merchandise
Adidas reported a huge lossfor the Q1 of 2023, with Yeezy s not being sold. The guidance reflects the revenue loss of around 1.2 billion from potentially not selling the existing stock,Gulden stated. Adidas has finally made their decision, that they are going sell some of the stocks of the Yeezy sneakers. Some portion of the money from the sale will be donated to charity.
Along with the sale of the Yeezy, they have also decided to pay 15% of the proceeds to Kanye West, as decided previously in the contract. Initially, Adidas was planning to burn all the merchandise, but it didn t make much sense. What we are trying to do now over time is sell parts of this inventory and donate money to the organizations that are helping us and that were also hurt by Kanye s statements, Gulden continued.
