However, with the bullying in school, Raymond didn t show support to her daughter.
Despite being freakishly tall and her voice shocking numerous fans, she has worked her way to success in the WNBA. BG never let the discrimination and questions about her sexuality get in the way of her career. Even as a kid, she was still finding out her place in the world and never forced where she belonged. She rather let it come to her naturally and eventually found who she is.
Griner grew up through a lot of struggles and hardships, being bullied at school and to see her father not show support. BG came out strong and won a WNBA title with theMercury. She is the youngest child in her family, having elder siblings, Shkera, Pier, and Decarlo. She spend her childhood in Houston and did her schooling there.
Griner made a serious decision of going pro in her freshman year at Baylor University. Even when in Nimitz high school, she didn t think of playing basketball at a professional level. However, she eventually made the best out of her college years. She was drafted no.1 overall by the Phoenix Mercury in the 2012 WNBA Draft.
