When asked about prejudice against transgender athletes, Brittney Griner did not hold back and spoke her ideas and strong beliefs. Griner, a WNBA standout now playing for the Phoenix Mercury, has come out to declare that she is gay, as we are all aware.
Despite having very different sexual orientations, transgender people and homosexuals both belong to the LGBTQ+ community. As a result, the media decided that Brittney Griner would be a good subject for an interview. Let’s take a deeper look at the questions she was asked about transgender athletes and the answers she gave.

The problems relating to homosexuals, transgender people, and the LGBTQ+ community have gotten worse recently. For those who do not know, a transgender person is someone who has gender dysphoria and identifies with the sex other than the one they were born with. Others have defended them and their rights to identify and feel however they want, while some have asserted that this is a mental disorder.
Everyone has a right to their own view because this is a highly complex matter. Brittney was questioned about hers and whether she thought the new regulations barring transgender persons from competing were legitimate. Griner answered the question and was very clear about her position.

Oh, I mean, that is definitely among the issues I’ll be speaking out against and advocating for because everyone has a right to play. Everyone has the right to visit this place, sit on these chairs, and feel secure. and not feel threatened, like they can’t be themselves, or like everyone is watching them. Therefore, I genuinely believe that separating people for any reason is illegal. Therefore, I will undoubtedly speak out against that legislation and those laws that are being proposed.
Everyone has the right to be at ease in their own flesh, and BG is undoubtedly correct in this assertion. However, the justification for the ban is that, regardless of how they feel, transgender people have an advantage over female athletes because they are biologically male.
If Griner continues to express this viewpoint in the future, we hope she will bear it in mind. After all, it would merely be unfair to the naturally gifted female athletes who have been striving to excel in their chosen sport.
