LeBron Jameslooks to be heading out of the playoff and joining Stephen Curry in Cancun. The Los Angeles Lakers find themselves in a deep hole against the Denver Nuggets. There is nothing much the Lakers can do against the Nuggets after going down 0-3 in the Conference Finals. No team has come back from such a deficit. LeBron, who came back from a 1-3 deficit, may also find this impossible to mount a comeback.
With theLakersheading out of the NBA, they saw character from their young guns in Rui Hachimura and Austin Reaves. The two have performed under pressure, and are proving to be crucial for them, as the Lakers look to keep them in the offseason. Reaves becomes a free agent this offseason, however, the Lakers are doing their best to keep him. However, if Reaves does not receive an equal or better offer from the Lakers he might be likely to leave.
If the Lakers want to keep him, they might need to free up some salary cap. With James looking unlikely to lead the team to an NBA title, the Lakers fans see potential elsewhere.King Jamesmight have some gas left in his tank, butReavesand Hachimura are showing tremendous potential. Some fans are even sharing their view on getting rid of the 4x MVP and tying down their future with the young guns.Rui and Reaves can carry the Lakers to a title, bron is holding them back,a fan commented on Twitter.

Huge silver Iining of this playoff run is they found 2 guys who are 16 game players in the playoffs. Not easy to find young guys who raise their game when the pressure is on.

If they keep these two, trade Lebron this team could be a actual force and not get swept.

2 most important guys behind bron/AD.

Good.
Maybe LeBron will take a pay cutK Magz (@Da_Man_Magz) May 21, 2023
they re going to overpay for all these role players, and then LeBron will leave

Needs to be long term deals because LeBron is leaving after next season.

I would get rid of Lebron

One thing is for sure, even if the Lakers don t get rid of LeBron, and trade away other crucial players to keep them. The Lakers have found a tremendous future with Reaves andHachimura. Something for the Lakers to rebuild in the future.
Is LeBron James career coming to an end with the Los Angeles Lakers?
LeBron has 2 years remaining on his contract, with a player option in his final season with the Lakers. If the Lakers decide to hold on to James, they will have to fork out $97 million in salary for him who will turn 39 next season. Despite James earning handsomely from the Lakers, he is also their best player. He led the scoring charts for the Lakers in the regular season. He led in the regular season as well as in the playoffsaveraging28.9 and 23.5 points per game.
James even leads in assists per game with 6.3 in the postseason and 6.8 in the regular season. There is no denying the fact that James makes the Lakers a better team in the offense. However, he might not have the capability to go out an entire season at his very best. It is unlikely that the Lakers choose to carry on without James. The Lakers have a serious decision to make, one that will define their future.
