Many NBA fans might be aware thatTee MorantisJa Morant sfather and one of his biggest supporters. Therefore, he has fallen under the crossfire given the recent activities of the Memphis Grizzlies star. As we all know, Ja has been suspended by the Memphis Grizzlies for his antics with a firearm and behavior.
This is not the first time that Ja has crossed the line . Since he is Ja s father and the one who trained him into becoming the basketball player he is today, Tee certainly holds some accountability. With that being said, let us find out what Tee has said so far on this issue.
Tee Morant has taken responsibility for all of Ja Morant s actions
Although this is somewhat expected, Tee has taken full responsibility for the irresponsible behavior of his ward. This is undoubtedly an ordeal since Ja already has a whole pile of questionable incidents so far in his youngcareer. He has primarily been associated with intimidation using firearms, a way of life that is not suited for NBA players.
Since Tee has been alongside his son from Day 1, he didn t chastise him in the public eye. Instead, he chose to bear responsibility, albeit indirectly. She shared how he felt when asked about the multiple scandals that his son was being linked to.
They (the negative attention) were rough. Rough. Reading bad things about my son and (people) judging him off of things that he really doesn t believe in. It s so crazy that people love to throw the stone but wouldn t want the stone thrown at their kid. I felt totally responsible. Ja s going to show the world who he is and I m excited about that.
Tee went on to reiterate that he felt a significant amount of self-blame, which any parent would feel when their child is coming under the limelight negatively,I blame myself. I blame myself because that s my son. When I say I will die for my kids, I will die for my kids. Now, has the world thought about that or thought like that? Anything my kid does, I m going to blame myself.
We should admire that Tee is owning up to his son s behavior instead of blindly defending him. Hopefully, this kind of behavior from Ja soon come to an end. It is highly likely that Tee would be very proud of him if he were able to do so.
