The whole issue aroundAnthony Edwardsis very confusing. Unfortunately, theMinnesota Timberwolveswere eliminated from the playoffs by theDenver Nuggets. They were hoping to bounce back but it seemed as if the Nuggets were simply the more dominant ones. The Wolves faced yet another embarrassing exit from the playoffs. Last year, they were eliminated by the Memphis Grizzlies in six games during the first round.
Anthony Edwards was extremely frustrated over the loss. He worked tirelessly to put up consistent figures to lead the Wolves. However, they only had one victory in the series. The Antman sped to the locker room once the game ended and swung a chair at the arena s security team. One fan said,Sad attempt to try rip money off him. Here are a few more reactions to the incident.

Unless there s something we didn t see this alone doesn t warrant any charges. He clearly was frustrated and didn t intend to do any harm, and didn t seem to cause harm at all.
Maybe he could have said sorry to the affected people after the game, and given them a signed jersey.

As the footage may suggest, it didn t seem like Anthony Edwards was aware of what had happened. He was looking downwards when it happened. If this happened to be any other common person, chances are that they would ve been made to apologize. After all, accidents do happen and this may have been one as well.
Anthony Edwards could potentially face 18 months of jail time
Anthony Edwards has been silent about the incident. Investigations are currently going on to find out what had happened. There were two individuals involved in the assault and one of them was a female security guard. Both victims have agreed to press charges against Edwards. Many fans were also shocked that it went as far as involving the police.
Based on what had happened, the Timberwolves released a statement, saying,We are aware of the alleged incident regarding Anthony Edwards following Game 5 in Denver and are in the process of gathering more information. We have no further comment at this moment. The incident was captured on camera and it did not look like Edwards had any malicious intent towards the security team.
However, charges for third-degree assault and recklessly injuring people were made. What Edwards had done was certainly very reckless but could have been sorted out by themselves. The NBA star could face 18 months in prison with or without having to pay a $1,000 fine. Edwards will be put to trial in June after which a verdict will be given. This will be the second time Edwards gets involved in controversy this season.
