Even though the Dallas Cowboys went 12-5, they lost early in the playoffs to the San Francisco 49ers for the second year in a row.
But during the regular season, they got a new star.
Tony Pollard, a running back, took a big step forward by running for 1,007 yards and nine touchdowns and throwing for 371 yards and three touchdowns. This earned him a spot in the Pro Bowl and gave the team a two-pronged ground attack with Ezekiel Elliott and Pollard.
Pollard will be a free agent, but it looks like he will stay with the team for at least one more season because the Cowboys are rumored to be ready to give him the franchise tag if they can’t work out a new deal with him.
Elliott and quarterback Dak Prescott have been at the center of the Cowboys for the past few years. Now, Pollard, star pass rusher Micah Parsons, cornerback Trevon Diggs, and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb have joined that group.

But even though they have some of the best players in the NFL right now, they have always found a way to disappoint.
They are one of the most famous football teams, but they haven’t won or been to the Super Bowl since 1995. That same year was also the last time they played in the NFC Championship Game.
Many people are starting to think that Prescott isn’t the quarterback who can get Dallas back to the level it was at when it won championships decades ago.
At age 29, he is who he is, and the franchise could be stuck in the middle ground of “good but not great.”
