Anthony Edwardshad a terrible ending to his 2022-23 Season after the Minnesota Timberwolves took a beating from the Denver Nuggets. The Wolves were struggling to keep up in the Western Conference and it took two games to get past the play-in tournament. After all the effort put in by the team, they lost in five games thus getting themselves eliminated for good.
Anthony Edwards tried his best averaging one of the best postseason stat lines seen recently. He put up 31.6 points, 5 rebounds and 5.2 assists along with 1.8 steals as well 2 blocks per game. Minnesota has to revamp its roster as most of its pieces barely work out for them. The pairing ofKarl-Anthony TownswithRudy Gobertnever made a difference either.
Nikola Jokic, the potential three-time back-to-back MVP led the Nuggets to an incredible Game 5 victory. Jokic recorded a triple-double of 28 points, 17 rebounds, and 12 assists. The game concluded at 112-109 and Edwards left the scene as soon as it ended. On the way to the locker room, he grabbed a chair and swung it around, hitting two Nuggets employees in the mix. Edwards night got even worse following the incident.
Anthony Edwards could face up to 18 months in prison for third-degree assault charges
It is unclear whether Anthony Edwards swung at the employees on purpose. Edwards was looking downward when it all happened. One of the victims happens to be a female employee as well. The video footage captured shows the woman holding her back in pain as Edwards proceeded to jog into the locker room. Both individuals were injured, apparently.

Anthony Edwards was later charged with third-degree assault and causing severe physical injuries as well. The forward is expected to be in court for trial as early as June. And if he is convicted of his charges, the player could potentially face up to 18 months in prison and pay a fine of $1,000. There isn t enough evidence proving that assault was intentional but it was certainly reckless of him to do what he did.
