Once more, Ja Morant has become widely popular for all the wrong reasons. The Memphis Grizzlies guard is said to have recently been photographed flaunting a gun on Instagram. The NBA community is aware that Morant has performed such actions before. He displayed a gun during an Instagram Live in a Denver str*p bar in March 2023.

Since many people thought he might have brought the gun on the team jet to Denver, where the Grizzlies were playing the Nuggets at the time, his NBA career was at risk at the time. Colorado Police came to the conclusion that there was insufficient evidence to convict Ja of any crime. Despite this, the NBA punished him for a total of 8 games because of his conduct, which it deemed to be detrimental to the league.
This time around, it has also been the case. Currently, the 23-year-old is out indefinitely, and the league is seriously looking into the situation. Fans are already speculating as to whether he will be detained as a result.
Ja Morant will not be arrested with respect to Tennessee s gun laws
For those who don’t know, Morant and his family reside in Tennessee. Interestingly, it was at this location that he is said to have punched a 17-year-old child in 2022. He has also been involved in other disputes, like this one. The Sevier County Sheriff’s Office states that Tennessee is a permit-free carry state.
This proves that Ja hasn’t broken any laws by posting pictures of a gun on social media. That does not, however, exclude him from facing a suspension. Many contend that he has not done anything illegal, but some think that the NBA, as his employer, has chosen to temporarily ban Ja in an effort to reprimand him.
The government is not disciplining Ja Morant, his employer is. He s been suspended, not arrested and prosecuted.

Since Adam Silver recently stated that the inquiry is still ongoing, it is quite unclear when Ja’s suspension actually began. After watching the footage, he admits to being truly shocked and said that he is assuming the worst.
Honestly, I was shocked when I saw this weekend that video. Now, we re in the process of investigating it.

According to some sources, Ja could be out for the start of the 2023–24 NBA season. This will depend on the NBA’s inquiries and Ja’s actions moving forward.
